WHY I'M OVER SUMMER

I had woken up this Sunday morning raring to go, and eager to get outside to take many photographs for a new Street Style shoot featuring some sunglasses. However, the only thing that was stopping me, was the fact that there was no sun. Not exactly helpful for a shoot primarily focused on sunglasses, which now leads me on to tell you why I am over our 'Summer.'

I'll be honest, I have never truly enjoyed the Summer season. In fact, I can't remember the last time I looked back and thought 'Wow, that Summer was immense!!' Don't get me wrong, I do love the sunshine and the warmth we get, and how our moods instantly lift whenever we see the Sun pop out. But let's face it, this is England and this only tends to last for a day or two. Now, I completely understand that some of you may think 'Well, why not just go abroad and stop whingeing?' I wish I could! I'm just terrible when it comes to saving my money..

During the Winter season, I often find myself daydreaming about the upcoming Summer, and how I'm going to travel, go to the nearest beach, go to a load of festivals, and just general Summery stuff. Yet when it actually comes down to it, all of these plans never surface. So, perhaps that is why Summer is always a let down for me, because I build it up so much to the point where if I don't do all of those things within the first week, then it's not worth doing.

I don't want to be all doom and gloom, so I shall try and conjure up a short list of the things I DO love about Summer;

  • Our days last longer
  • The Strawberry Lemonades from McDonalds (C'mon, we all love them right?)
  • It's acceptable to wear sunglasses indoors and outdoors, even if it is raining
  • How green everything looks
  • Raspberry & Coffee Magnums

I can't actually believe I am about to say this, but roll on Autumn! My absolute favourite season of the year! However, I refuse to build up the Autumn season, like I do with the Summer season. So for now, I shall just wait until the Sun finally does come out.
