ELEMIS PRO-COLLAGEN MARINE CREAM FOR MEN

A couple of months ago I received a bundle of goodies from Elemis, and from the selection that I've been trialling (I'll be sharing more of these soon!) I have to say that the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream For Men is without a doubt one of my new favourite skincare products!

20171012_185342223_iOS.jpg

I applied the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream first thing in the morning as I felt that I only needed to apply this once daily and before the cream had begun to take effect, I was already in love with the scent. It smelt incredibly clean and had a good lasting power as well which I found impressive for a skincare product!

As the day went on, my skin looked hydrated and the cream absorbed into my skin very easily. The texture of the Marine Cream was very light but please note, you only need a small amount of this for application as it still goes a long way!

My skin felt smoother and had an overall dewy glow to it, having said that, however, I noticed that my skin had a slight 'shine' effect to it from the cream which admittedly at first I didn't particularly like but as I got used to the cream, all of the other benefits easily outweighed this minor problem for me!

I'm not surprised that the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream For Men is the winner of this year's Best New Anti-Ageing Cream For Men in the GQ Grooming Awards...

Have you tried the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream For Men before? How did you find it? Have you tried any other products by Elemis? If so, which ones? Do you have any you think I need to get my hands on? DIPTYQUE CAR DIFFUSER

When I think of Diptyque, I think of candles, personal fragrances and one of the top brands when it comes to creating sublime scents for your home and garden. In fact, their 'Vanille' candle was the first candle I had ever purchased and remains to be one of my all-time favourite scents!

20171005_132337236_iOS.jpg

Diptyque have now recently added a new creation to their ever-growing collection; the Car Diffuser which is available in 7 different scents and you have the option of choosing from;

Baies (Berries) | Ambre (Amber) | Figuier (Fig Tree) | Roses | Fleur d'Oranger (Orange Blossom) | Gingembre (Ginger) | 34

I had been lucky enough to have been sent the Car Diffuser with the 'Baies' scented insert, a blend of floral rose mixed with the refreshing fruitiness of blackcurrant leaves!

To assemble the Car Diffuser all you need to do is:

20171008_093527981_iOS.jpg
  1. Open the diffuser's case
  2. Load the scented insert
  3. Click the case into place so it closes
  4. Turn the golden clip and choose the most suitable opening depending on the air vent
  5. Attach the diffuser to the car's air vent
  6. Adjust the opening of the vent according to the strength of how you want the scent to be

It is all about personal preference with this chic little gadget and for me, I had the opening of the car diffuser opened midway as when it had been fully opened, I found it to be a little too overpowering, especially in a closed space. In terms of the scent, however, it smelt exactly the same as it does in candle form which is impressive as sometimes I have found with other brands that when they try to do the same scent in different forms, they can sometimes vary and smell completely different!

A perfect way to scent your car whilst on your travels, whether it be a long journey or short! The Car Diffuser is available to purchase here and comes at the price of £35 with the refill being listed at £25. With Christmas coming up perhaps this could make a chic gift for somebody...?

MAGNITONE CLEAN SWEEP SKIN BRUSH FOR MEN

Magnitone had very kindly sent out their latest 'Clean Sweep' Skin Brush For Men for me to trial, and I have to say, I have found it to be a neat little gadget!

20171003_173220481_iOS.jpg

The Skin Brush comes with many features such as a Power Light, Turbo Mode Light, a charge spot which is magnetic allowing for easy use, and my favourite feature? The HydroPRO Brush Head: The precision moulded silicon on the Skin Brush has been specifically engineered for men's skin which exfoliates 30% deeper and gets under all of your facial hair whilst helping to prevent ingrown hairs!

My cleansing routine with the Clean Sweep;

  1. For me personally, I found it was better to use the Clean Sweep at night just before going to bed to allow the cleanser to work overnight.
  2. I placed the brush head into the circle and turned it until it locked into place.
  3. I then applied a cleansing gel (Kiehl's Age Defender Dual-Action Exfoliating Cleanser) upon my skin and dampened the brush and began to massage the skin in a circular motion.
  4. After cleansing my skin until I felt comfortable with, I then pressed the button again which then goes into 'Turbo Mode' which detangled and really got underneath my facial hair to allow for a deeper cleansing feel!
  5. I washed off the cleansing gel and left my brush head to dry overnight.

The Clean Sweep felt soft upon my skin which was a pleasant surprise as prior to using this, I was slightly dubious as to whether or not the silicon may be a little too hard on the skin. I found that the silicon actually helped to guide the brush better and easier across my face! After using the Clean Sweep, my face felt a lot smoother, looked more radiant and overall I was impressed with how effective the brush was!

You can purchase the Magnitone Clean Sweep Skin Brush For Men here.

JO MALONE ENGLISH OAK & REDCURRANT

Taken from Jo Malone's newest Collection; English Oak, the English Oak & Redcurrant fragrance is the perfect transitional fragrance for Autumn!

20170926_180708307_iOS.jpg
  • Top Note: Redcurrant
  • Heart Note: Rose
  • Base Note: Roasted Oak Absolute

English Oak & Redcurrant opens up with a sharp burst of the Redcurrant note which instantly feels fruity and rather sweet.

During the dry-down, I didn't get much of the Rose note within this fragrance, which had perhaps been overshadowed slightly by the boldness of the woody Roasted Oak note! The longevity of English Oak & Redcurrant lasted for up to 7 hours on my skin and the sillage was medium to heavy.

Compared to the other English Oak fragrance; English Oak & Hazelnut, they differ in that the Hazelnut scent is much more 'green' and earthy! My personal preference? The English Oak & Redcurrant! There is just something about the blend of the notes which creates a warm, cosy feeling which is ideal for the cold, Autumnal season!

AUTUMN 2017

Autumn for me is a time to reassess yourself and work on improvements. Perhaps many people find that the month January is the time to do that, with the whole 'New Year, New Me' mindset, but I find that if you start to work on yourself now, by the time it comes to the New Year, you'll be ready.

Without a doubt, Autumn has to be my most favourite season of the year, with the leaves changing colour to walking through them on the ground and hearing them rustle. The buzz in the air and the excitement for the many upcoming events such as Halloween and Bonfire Night, right down to the cold, brisk air which makes for a good excuse to throw on as many layers as possible!

I always find that as each year comes, I spend most of the Summer season hibernating away and I come out to play in Autumn/Winter! Does anybody else feel the same? As a celebration of Autumn, I have revamped my homepage and tweaked a few little things here on my blog, do you like it? I also have many things coming up this A/W so be sure to keep your eye out!

The photographs below were taken a couple of years ago around Swinsty Reservoir in North Yorkshire/England and I find they best sum up how stunning Autumn really can be...

This post is my entry for #TheBlogRace; Vix & Laila! Voting opens on Saturday AM so please vote for me when it opens, it would mean a lot.

Thank you!

COACH FOR MEN FRAGRANCE

Coach For Men is a crisp and sensual fragrance that captures the modern spirit of youthful possibility! Fronting the campaign is none other than James Franco who was picked as he captures the spirit of what a Coach Man really is; an American Dreamer, an adventurous risk-taker and a romantic at heart.

20170920_162144466_iOS.jpg
  • Top Notes: Green Nashi, Bergamot, Kumquat
  • Middle Notes: Cardamom, Coriander, Geranium
  • Base Notes: Vetiver Haiti LMR, Suede, Ambergris

The opening begins with a bold and rather overpowering rush of the citrus notes that slowly dries down onto my skin and begins to feels calmer after 40 minutes. As the fragrance dries down, it becomes more woodsy and spicy.

In terms of the sillage, Coach For Men is heavy and can be smelt lingering in the air long after I have left a room! The longevity on my skin lasted for up to 6-7 hours which was rather impressive and I also liked the little hangtag on the bottle itself to mirror the hangtags left on every Coach bag!

Coach also teamed up with Pintrill to create some limited edition Pins! A rather chic and unique way to celebrate a fragrance right? You can purchase Coach For Men here.

AUTUMN WITH JOHN SMEDLEY

John Smedley is renowned for the world's finest knitwear and is the go-to brand for Fashion Designers such as Dame Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith.

So, when they recently contacted me offering me a piece from their website, I was ecstatic and my brain went into overdrive on which item to choose... In the end, I chose the Garda Jumper in the Crimson Forest colour. I chose the bright, vivid Crimson Forest as red is a huge trend this A/W and I felt it would look striking teamed with a plain black outfit. The jumper itself is incredibly soft and luxurious, and it fits perfectly! Matt McCormick shot these images in Leeds, and once again, I couldn't be happier with the results. I hope you all like the images!
